About the conference

Demands to optimize aircraft performance, decrease operating and maintenance costs, increase dispatch reliability, and reduce gas emissions - have underscored the aircraft industry's renewed push toward the concept of more electric aircraft (MEA).  Adoption of the MEA concept is seen as a critical enabler for the aircraft industry to unlock significant improvements in terms of aircraft weight, fuel consumption, total life cycle cost, maintenance, and aircraft reliability. However, the MEA puts some challenges on the aircraft electrical system, both in the amount of the required power and the processing and management of this power.

The 4th International Symposium on More Electric Aircraft Technology (MEA 2017) is organised by Beijing Aeronautical Science & Technology Research Institute of COMAC (BASTRIC), The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and Tsinghua University, aimed at gathering experts from all over the world to share their latest research results, new ideas and innovative thinking, discussing the problems and solutions relating to technological development as well as future concepts associated with MEA.

The conference is formatted in a combination of industry seminars as well as academic call-for-paper, and also offers the delegates the option of visiting the research centre at Beijing Aeronautical Science & Technology Research Institute of COMAC (BASTRIC). Where else can you get all these in two days? Join us at the MEA 2017 and enjoy the ultimate experience nowhere else.  The conference will be held at Beijing Aeronautical Science & Technology Research Institute of COMAC (BASTRIC), Beijing, China on 08-09 November 2017.
